Francis Kurkdjian was neither born in Grasse, nor from a perfumer’s family. However, his passion for perfume is definitely in his soul.

As a child he studied piano and dance, which taught him strictness. At the age of 15, he decides to become perfumer. At 25, he creates his first perfume: le Mâle for Jean-Paul Gaultier, which became a worldwide success. What follows is a big mix of imaginary, of listening, and interest for cultures and their differences. His secret: create trends, never follow them. Francis Kurkdjian has lived several years in New York. He now lives in Paris and shares his creations with the luxury world - beauty and fashion- his private clientele and artistic contrubution. Francis Kurkdjian is member of the Société Française des Parfumeurs. In 2001, he was the winner of the François Coty Perfumers Prize.

Francis Kurkdjian went on to create his own house, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, in 2010.
